The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has made revisions to the results of 21 students in the 12th-grade class, who participated in the recent 2023 annual examinations.
In total, 139,431 students were enrolled in the 11th-grade class in the regions of J&K and Ladakh. Out of these, 73,471 students (53 percent) successfully cleared the exams, with 73,809 being males and 65,609 being females. Girls have once again outperformed boys, achieving a pass percentage of 57 compared to the boys’ 49 percent. These examinations were conducted at 1,316 centers established across both UTs in soft and hard zone areas.
Dr. Parikshat Singh Manhas, the Chairperson of JKBOSE, expressed contentment with the entire Class 11th examination process. He conveyed gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, and Principal Secretary Education Alok Kumar for their invaluable guidance and support in executing the Uniform Academic Calendar effectively.
He further extended congratulations to all stakeholders and expressed appreciation for the efforts of the divisional and district-level administrative machinery, National Informatics Centre, India Posts, the entire team of officers and officials of JKBOSE, and others who contributed directly or indirectly to the realization of the government’s vision, uniting students from both UTs in the same academic session and successfully declaring their results.
The Chairman emphasized, “Implementing a new policy takes a significant amount of effort, and the Uniform Academic Calendar 2022-23 is no exception. The vastness and climatic and topographical challenges posed during the examination conduct in both UTs were formidable, but with the active cooperation of every stakeholder, the academic session 2022-23 has concluded successfully.”
The JKBOSE spokesperson further informed that students who need to reappear or have failed are advised that as per Government Order No. 119-Edu of 2017 dated March 15, 2017 (restructuring of examination system), along with BOSE Notification No. F(Acad-C) Adms/XI-XII/18 dated September 24, 2018, and Notification No. F(JSE/RR/Prov/12th)22 dated August 3, 2022, they can continue their studies in Class XII on a provisional basis until the result of their Biannual examination 2023 is announced.
To provide easy access to the result gazette, the JKBOSE has made arrangements through various media. The result can be checked online on the official JKBOSE website, www.jkbose.nic.in. Candidates can also avail the SMS facility by sending a text message to 5676750, typing “jkbose10” followed by a space and their Roll No. For instance, “jkbose11 Roll No.” Those without mobile phones or internet access can obtain their results from the nearest JKBOSE office where soft copies of result gazettes are available.
In case of any queries about the results, students are advised not to visit the JKBOSE offices in Jammu/Srinagar physically. Instead, they can email their queries to email@example.com (for Jammu Division) and firstname.lastname@example.org (for Kashmir Division), providing all relevant details. These queries will be addressed after proper processing at the earliest opportunity.
If any students are dissatisfied, they can reach out to their respective schools or the nearest JKBOSE Sub/Branch office. JKBOSE offers the opportunity for students to request a photocopy and re-evaluation of their answer sheets, which they can apply for online after the relevant notification is issued.
